Modernization of the Skaleet payment hub to reduce time-to-market, support SCT Inst and accelerate the onboarding of new bank customers.
To meet the growing expectations of the European banking market — instantaneity, ISO 20022 compliance, resilience, modularity — Skaleet had to migrate its SEPA payment hub from a monolithic legacy system, not compatible with instant transfers.
This transformation was strategic for:
- supporter SCT Inst instant transfers, mandatory to remain competitive,
- reduce time-to-market for the arrival of new customers and partners,
- industrialize flows by relying on a API-first architecture,
- improve the scalability and maintainability of the Core Banking platform.
Theodo Fintech was asked to support Skaleet in the Complete rebuild of the payment base, a central project for their 2025 growth.
The challenges:
- Activate SEPA instant transfer in 6 months while complying with the strict requirements of the SCT Inst scheme.
- Building a generic and modular base, interoperable with direct or indirect participants.
- Manage thetimestamp, timeouts and transaction robustness, with a Runtime SLA < 10 seconds.
- Insure the regulatory compliance in real time (anti-fraud, KYC, sanctions).
- Provide a comprehensive and standardized documentation to facilitate procurement and internal scalability.

Our approach
What made the difference
An SCT Inst certification validated from the first attempt
Thanks to a fine mastery of the requirements of the scheme and to exhaustive automated tests, the solution was certified from its first pass.
Architecture designed and delivered in 3 months
Incremental division and tight governance made it possible to meet deadlines despite the technical depth of the project.
An architecture designed for reusability
The APIs, ADR and BPMN products allowed Skaleet teams and their partners to quickly integrate new flows, drastically reducing time-to-market.
