Reinstatement of an infrastructure on AWS
The use of the electronic signature at Acciona División Inmobiliaria
Context
Universign offers a SaaS electronic signature platform and must therefore comply with strict regulations. To maintain its certification, the company must comply with the eIDAS standard for its September 2025 audit. However, security and downtime problems that occurred in 2024 called into question Universign's ability to meet certification criteria.
Universign first asked Theodo Cloud to understand its flaws through a ROSE audit. Following this audit, Theodo Cloud proposed a remediation plan to modernize Universign's infrastructure by moving from a hybrid model to full hosting at AWS.

Challenges
- Lack of internal expertise to restructure a Hub&Spoke architecture fully described in Terraform code (IaC) with a dependency on a lot of legacy
- Obligation to ensure the availability of the platform during remediations in order not to affect end users
Our approach
35 experts, including Universign teams, were deployed to modernize the infrastructure in 16 weeks. The assets that made the difference:
Right-First-Time
The project was built on the needs for improvements detected during the prior audit.
Building a learning organization
Creation of 2 programming exercises for Universign teams in order to make them autonomous on the new infrastructure.
Deliver Continuously with Just-in-Time
Realization of 24 workshops and 15 ceremonies to prioritize progress.
