Redesign of the customer portal and modular modernization of the ERP in Symfony, in 18 months with AI.
Context
Minlay, European leader in innovation in dental prostheses, has experienced rapid growth (from 30 to 250 M€ in 6 years) thanks to a proactive acquisition strategy. The ambition: to triple turnover by 2030.
However, half of Minlay's business is still based on an ERP platform developed in-house, which has now become an obstacle to growth: its code, based on Zend/PHP 5.6, is no longer maintained; the monolithic ERP is proving to be slow, not very scalable and vulnerable; finally, the customer experience is suffering; finally, the customer experience suffers, even though market differentiation is now based on the quality of service and the real-time visibility of orders.
Minlay called on Theodo to carry out this modernization, secure the continuity of its operations and prepare for the future valuation of the company.

Challenges
- Get out of the immediate risk zone: fill security gaps (XSS, RGPD, PHP5.6 not supported) while ensuring 24/7 continuity.
- Repositioning the customer portal as a Minlay showcase: modern design and user-centered journeys
- Reconciling external growth and IT integration: onboarding a new brand reduced from 5 weeks to a few days.
- Migrate a critical ERP: gradual changeover via a transition architecture (reverse proxy, double run) while guaranteeing possible rollback per module.
- Capturing business knowledge encapsulated in legacy code using AI, to reinject it into a cloud-ready and scalable architecture.
Our approach
A team of Theodo experts - 1 AI Architect, 1 Senior Product Manager, 2 AI Software Engineers, 1 UX/UI Designer - worked with Minlay for 15 weeks.
Our AI-powered approach:
Right First Time
Automatic legacy mapping, assisted transpilation to PHP 8 and Symfony and tests generated by AI, to speed up and make the migration more reliable without regression.
Just in Time
Modular division (6 business areas) to maximize business impact from the first modules and deliver incremental business results.
Tech-enabled network of teams
Progressive transition via a reverse proxy architecture between legacy and target, allowing the two versions to be maintained in parallel.
