Our history

The origins

Now recognised as a leading technology consulting firm, Theodo was founded on a clear principle: designing digital products that are useful, robust and built to last. Let us return to the company’s beginnings.

After graduating from École Polytechnique, Benoît and Fabrice chose to pursue a different path from traditional career routes. They went on to create Allomatch, their first successful venture, which attracted five million users annually. It was through supporting an organisation in the digitalisation of a complex business process that they defined their long-term mission: to design high-impact digital products while developing a new generation of technical leaders. This marked the beginning of Theodo.

“Theodo is built on the belief that technical excellence, a learning-driven culture and real-world usefulness can go hand in hand. We don’t build technology for its own sake. We build useful products.”

Our vision: build useful products, deliver fast, do it right

Theodo was founded in 2009 with a simple conviction: turning ideas into useful digital products — and doing so quickly and to a high standard.

Agility emerged as the first lever of this approach. Over time, the team refined its methodology by incorporating Lean principles, creating an efficient, learning-driven model.

A model of excellence driven by experts

The journey continued as the company scaled and teams were given the opportunity to create their own entities. Over time, Theodo evolved into a group structured around a distributed entrepreneurial model, driven by the expertise and autonomy of its teams.

  • 2013: Creation of M33, the internal startup studio.
  • 2014: Launch of BAM, the mobile-focused entity, founded by Baptiste (Business Development) and Marek (Architect).
  • 2015: Opening of Theodo UK in London, led by Fabrice Bernhard, marking the group’s international expansion.
  • 2016: Creation of Sicara, specialising in computer vision and big data, founded by Benoît Limare and Pierre-Henri Cumenge.
  • 2017: Launch of Sipios, the finance-focused vertical, founded by Rodolphe and Woody.
  • 2018: Launch of Padok, the cloud and DevOps entity, founded by Clément and Aurore.
  • 2021: Creation of Hokla, dedicated to digital health, founded by Thomas and Noémie.
  • 2021: Opening of offices in Nantes and Lyon to strengthen the group’s national presence.
  • 2022: Opening of Solona, dedicated to public sector, founded by Maxime and Matthieu.

From Paris to London, and from finance to healthcare, each entity is driven by the same ambition: to build centres of excellence delivering useful, robust solutions — fast.

From a collective of tribes to a single brand

In 2022, Theodo decided to bring all its entities together under a single banner. The objective was to clarify the group’s positioning, pool its strengths, and speak with one voice. Theodo thus became a unified brand, structured around six areas of expertise:

  • Theodo Apps
  • Theodo Cloud
  • Theodo Data & AI
  • Theodo FinTech
  • Theodo HealthTech
  • Theodo GovTech

“We never set out to build a startup for fundraising. We wanted to build a company that develops brilliant people, solves complex problems, and creates impact — fast.”

Arnaud Caudoux

Our guiding principle: impact

From the very first sprint to the Tech Lean Manifesto published in 2023, the vision has remained the same: to design useful digital products with rigour, transparency and high standards. For our clients. For their users. For our teams.

What's next ?

With more than 700 experts based in Paris, London, Nantes, Lyon and Casablanca, Theodo delivers critical, high-impact projects across both the private and public sectors. This growth is driven by high standards, rapid execution capabilities and recognised expertise in strategic domains such as sovereign cloud and applied AI.

Our ambition is to become a leading European technology player. An ambition supported by a strong entrepreneurial collective, an international network and a shared conviction: the best technology is the one that serves impact, performance and sustainability.
